Opportunity of Giving – Update !
Welcome to all of our followers and friends !

This is the first newsletter for our charity group. We plan to send out regular updates of our activities, projects, donations and future plans. The goal is to help us all to feel part of this charity group community with our common interest to provide pathways for others to build their futures and allow them in turn to help others.

Phop Phra children’s refugee facility:
We continue working with these impressive kids who show us their strong spirits and willingness to improve their lives and future prospects.

Recently the children have moved into the new facility that was purpose built on their own land purchased by their carers, just outside town (closer to their school). They have been excited to take this major step and now its given them so much more to work with and look forward to.

Already they have established their own vegetable patches and all pitch in to work it. So positive to feel more self sufficient and learning new skills.

Before they moved, more visits were made by our charity friends, Bike Tour Asia and Kent & Nun made a visit to say hello and deliver some food supplies….. Well done !

Clean Water Supply Project :
One pressing need at the new premises is for pumping and filtering of the available water supply to the buildings for use and to store.

Together with the carers (LhaSo family), we contacted a local water filtration specialist (Siankit, Mae Sot) and asked them to evaluate the needs of the water supply. They have put together the following list of equipment and items to cover the requirements.

2 x FB-50 Fiber filter with rocker heads 50 liter (7,500×2) = 15,000 baht

CrA50 Water filter CARBON cost 80/ liter = 4,000 baht

Petrified water filter Resin FD 110/ liter 50 = 5,500 baht

2 x Sediment filter tank BB -10a ‘Big blue’ (2900×2) = 5,800 baht

Automatic water pump 265 squares (MITSUBISHI WP.255) = 8,500 baht

100 x bags of salt PE 100 liter = 2,500 baht

2 x Water storage tank (6,490×2) +500 delivery charge = 13,480 baht

Total Estimate = 54,780 baht

*Bike Tour Asia has kindly offered to pay the first 25,000 baht of this project !! THANK YOU SO MUCH..

*Our charity currently has available funds to then donate the balance (29,780 baht) so this project can proceed.

*Installation costs will be provided by the LhaSo family.

Next update we hope to have a positive progress report for all.

Charity Group Donation Trip – December 2024:

School for this years donation: Thee Tho Tha, Omkoi District, Chiangmai province

Donation trip scheduled for (13th to 15th) December 2024

Friday 13th: Travel to Omkoi

Saturday 14th: School visit to the kids and take our donations
Sunday 15th: Return

The teachers at the school provided this list for required items they would be grateful to receive, and this is our target for December.

solar cell system for powering deep freezer, refrigerator, and lighting (96,500 baht)

10 sets of tables and chairs for classrooms (25,500 baht)

38 sets of warm clothes (9,250 baht)

38 pairs of school shoes (4,500 baht)

Soap, shampoo, detergent, candy, pens, pencils, books, toothpaste, toothbrushes (16,500 baht)

Total estimate: (152,250 baht)

All are welcome to help with the preparation and donations and to join for the weekend visit.
